Made a trip down to Kentucky Lake last week-end for some bass fishing. I perdicted the bite would be slow for a few reasons, mainly due to the current in the lake. Right now the lakes (Barkley and Kentucky) are at summer pool and there isnt much current so the bass werent on the usual channels. All that being said we did OK, had some 2-3 lb large mouth and I lost a nice small mouth.
I have a friend who is one of the better bass fisherman down there and he always suggests early March for primo small mouth. The brownies are in the channels and they are real aggressive.
Also, the Green Turtle Resort is the place to stay if you have some funds. 3 bedroom condo, nice one, is $350.00 per night. Check it out when you can, Kentucky Lake blows Lake of the Ozarks away.
